Koca Popovic, former Foreign Minister of Yugoslavia, conferred here today with President Charles de Gaulle and was believed to have proposed, on behalf of the Yugoslavian President, that France try once more to convene a four-power conference of the Big Powers to work out a solution for the Israeli-Arab crisis.
After leaving Gen. de Gaulle, Mr. Popovic told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency: “I gave President de Gaulle a message dealing with the Middle East problem, which is a burning question for both our countries. I found we have identical points of view about a certain number of questions. Gen. de Ga de told me he was preparing an answer to this message.” The message was one Mr. Popovic had brought from Marshal Tito.
