President Truman today asked chairman Francis E. Walter of the Immigration sub-committee for speedy action on the President’s program to bring in 300,000 immigrants in the next three years.
After a meeting with the President at the White House, Rep. Walter announced that hearings on the program might begin about a week after the Easter recess.
