The German delegation, according to the report, sought to eliminate reference to the principles on the grounds that they constituted discrimination. Henry Meyercwitz, representing the Consultative Council of Jewish Organization, World Jewish Congress and Coordinating Board of Jewish Organizations, took the floor to oppose the move. A compromise was later reached between the German deletes and the Jewish coups in which the term Numbers was omitted, but reference to international status covering these crimes” was retained.
