Dr Emanuel Neumann, president of the Zionist Organization of America, who is en route to the Zionist Actions Committee meeting in Israel, told a press conference hers that U.N. Palestine mediator Count Folke Bernadotte is trying to obtain “face-saving” advantages for the Arabs as well as to prevent the collapse of the Arab League.
Dr. Neumann asserted that the current truce was quickly decided on in order to prevent a crushing Arab defeat. He voiced the hope that Israel would continue to demand the inclusion of Jerusalem into the Jewish state.
