Foreign aid director David E. Bell today mentioned the forthcoming termination of aid to Israel in an address before the Magazine Publishers Association.
He stressed that aid programs to individual countries ought to be as much as possible “self-terminating” designed to create a momentum of development so the country can eventually do without aid. He said Israel, Greece and Taiwan, with United States help, already are in a position so that aid to them might be denied in the next few years.
