Mrs. Mussie Hochstein, widow of Abraham Hochstein, late of Jerusalem, through her attorney, Joseph Gross, of this city, today filed a claim with the Secretary of State against the Turkish government for the death of her husband and a daughter, Pearl, the permanent illness of another daughter, Leah, and the loss of considerable property, as a result of Turkish atrocities during the World War. The loss is set at upwards of $50,000.
Mr. Hochstein was a citizen of the United States, having been naturalized in New York City shortly before he went to Jerusalem, about twenty-six years ago. He maintained his citizenship by occasional registration at the office of the consul, and renewal of his passport.
