Paul A. Porter, American representative to the U.N. Conciliation Commission, expressed optimism today on the eventual solution of problems in Palestine.
Addressing a meeting of the American Veterans Committee here, he said, “conditions can improve to where it will be easy to develop peaceful settlement” if President Truman’s Point Four program is carried out. He hailed the economic survey mission, predicting that “we can develop a series of solutions within the framework of an economic solution.” Mr. Porter warned that the solution would not be entirely satisfactory “to the extremes of either group.”
