Characterizing Chief Rabbi Kook of Palestine as “a man of giant stature” whose loss to world Jewry is irreplaceable, Rabbi Joseph Konvitz, president of the Union of Orthodox Rabbis of the United States and Canada, today announced that he is calling a conference “for the purpose of planning a fitting, pious memorial to his life and his death.”
