“The United States will never stand for intolerance, or for a Hitler, or Hitlerism,” declared former Judge Robert Carey, Republican candidate for governor, in an address before the luncheon club of the Camden B’nai B’rith.
“If the day ever comes,” he declared, “that a man cannot worship in America as he sees fit–and I’m sure it won’t–then this country most surely will slip and will go back to darkest days.”
Carey was presented to members by Dr. Hyman I. Goldstein, meeting chairman. Benjamin F. Friedman, president of the club. welcomed the former judge on be half of the members.
