A number of business men, farmers, one nurse and representatives of several other professions, are leaving aboard the SS Asia today for Palestine, where they plan to settle.
The group includfs Jacob Maze of New York, a farm scientist who will join the agricultural station of the Zionist Executive; S. Kasle, of Toledo, a business man, J. Baruchman and daughter, Miss Pearl Baruchman, a nurse of Memphis, Tenn., Max Gallin, a merchant of Cleveland, O. who takes his family with him.
The steamer also carries a shipment of 150 leg horn chickens and hens, the gift of the Jewish farmers of New Jersey to the Palestine Experiment Station at Tel-Aviv, for breeding purposes.
The furniture and personal effects of Dr. Israel Friedlander of the Jewish Theological Seminary, who was murdered in the Ukraine in 1920 were also aboard the steamer for shipment to Palestine for Dr. Friedlander’s widow, a sister of Colonel Norman Bentwich, Legal Secretary of the Palestine government.
The steamer also carries a Sefer Torah to be used in the dedication by the American Zion Commonwealth of the colony “Balfouria”. The entire cargo and most of the Palestine travelers were booked by the Palestine and Oriental Shipping Service.
