Emphasizing common Jewish and British interests in the Near East, Palestine, organ of the British Palestine Committee, today warned Colonial Secretary Malcolm MacDonald that the White Paper policy will be used as evidence of the breakdown of the Empire and British readiness to betray civilization. “But Jewish leaders,” the periodical added, “have too robust a faith in Britain and feel their destiny linked with ours. Nothing would content the enemies of Britain and the Jews more than a deep cleavage between them. The Jews, despite MacDonald, will refuse to fall into this trap. They will resist the policy of the White Paper and fight for the national home. They will surmount obstacles and cooperate with the British people”
