Dr. Chaim Weizmann, president of the Jewish Agency for Palestine, today paid a formal call on the Turkish Government. Dr. Weizmann’s visit to Turkey is the first since the World War, when Great Britain wrested Palestine from the Turkish Empire and shortly thereafter proclaimed, in the Balfour Declaration, its intention to facilitate the establishment of a Jewish National home in the Holy Land.
Dr. Weizmann will leave for Palestine shortly, after a brief stay here, planning to return to London in the Middle of December to prepare for the forthcoming British-Arab-Jewish negotiations for a peaceful settlement of the current Palestine conflict.
