Former Italian President Giuseppe Saragat has accepted an Invitation to visit Israel but said the exact date of his visit will depend on his schedule. The invitation was extended to him by Israel’s Ambassador Amiel Najar on behalf of the Israel’s government. Saragat, who at the end of Dec. concluded a seven-year term as Italy’s Chief of State, resumed last week his former political activities when he was re-elected a member of the Italian Social Democratic Party. He is also a member of the Italian Senate and considered by most Italians as one of the country’s most important political figures.
