A resolution adopted today at the worldwide conference of the World Union for Progressive Judaism, now being held here, demanded that the “state of Israel grant to Progressive Judaism the same rights and privileges as accorded to other forms of Judaism.”
The resolution added: “We recognize that the establishment of the state of Israel was an event of supreme importance and significance for the future of the Jews and Judaism. We appreciate the achievements of our brethren who built the ancient land reverently and remember those who fought and died in defense of their home.”
