Nine men were injured today when Tel Aviv police and reinforcements hastily summoned from Jaffa clashed with brown-shirted members of the Brith Trumpeldor, youth organization affiliated with the Revisionists, the extreme right-wing Zionists.
The clash followed a mass meeting held by the Brith Trumpeldorites at Tel Aviv to protest against the Palestine government’s immigration policy and, particularly, the relentless round-up of Jewish tourists who have overstayed their visas in the country.
After the meeting, the Trumpeldorites, bearing banners and signs, started a parade through the streets of the city. Police attempted to break up the parade but were unable to do so without the aid of reserves from Jaffa. The parade was finally broken up after a number of arrests were made. Six policemen and three of the demonstrators were injured.
