Birds to the number of 1,750,000 weighing a grand total of 6,650,000 pounds will help New York Jews to celebrate the foiling of the plan of an ancient predecessor of modern anti-Semitism who lived in Persia in the days of Ahasuerus and his Jewish queen Esther. The market is flooded with fowls as never before for the Purim celebration, dealers declare. While a consider able part of this supply will go to non-Jewish channels, Jews, by reason of the celebration of the holiday are expected to purchase the largest share.
