The J.T.A. representative here is informed that Mr. Marcus, Director of the Joint Distribution Committee in Lithuania has been appointed Director for Poland, Latvia and Lithuania, with his central office in Warsaw. The Jewish Central Bank in Kowno gave Mr. Marcus a farewell banquet on the occasion of his departure for Warsaw.
The reconstruction activity in Lithuania undertaken by the JDC is gradually being brought to an end, but the process of liquidation is expected to take several years.
