A Christmas dance arranged by a society of Jewish women at Chongrad ended disastrously in the death of one person and the injury of seventeen others.

The bomb is said to have been thrown by a gang of Awakening Magyars who resented a Jewish celebration of Christmas.

Of the seventeen that were hurt when the bomb exploded, seven are in a serious condition and the other ten have gotten off with light wounds.
