A final written protest and appeal for a veto of the immigration bill was sent to President Coolidge on behalf of the American Jewish Committee and the American Jewish Congress, before the President had signed the bill, it was leaned here today. The appeal was signed by Louis Marshall and Rabbi Stephen S. Wise. The petitioners were convinced in advance of the hopelessness of their protest, but took the action nevertheless for its moral effect, and as a matter of record.
