Mr. Tumenas, formerly the Minister of Justice in the Galvanauskas Government, has formed a new ministry, which consists mainly of Christian Democratic Party members.

The new Prime Minister offered, according to information obtained by the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, to the former Minister for Jewish Affairs. Dr. Samson Rosenbaum, the post of Minister, without portfolio, for Jewish Affairs. Dr. Rosenbaum declined the offer, pointing out that this would indirectly sanction the liquidation of the Jewish Ministry.

After negotiations with the government concerning its policy, the Jewish deputies in the Lithuanian Sejm declined to support the new government.
