“Unless drastic measures are taken to thwart the Jews, they will own more property in Montreal than all the Christians combined, within the next ten or fifteen years. The Jews will then become the masters and we Christians the suppressed. Let us not wait until tomorrow; We must act today before it is too late,” roads the Lacroix, the French Catholic Weekly. The Lacroix continued this week its antisemitic campaign, devoting practically the entire issue to tirades against the Jews. With streaming headlines, it lauded the recent pogroms in Germany and appeale to its readers advocating the boycotting of Jews and attempting to provoke open violence by creating the impression that the Jews massacred millions of Christians in Russia.

The dearborn independent and other antisemitic organs are quoted by the lacroix to show that the Jews already possess thirty six million dollars worth of real estate in Montreal which has a market value of fifty million dollars, despite the fact that Jews have been in Montreal only twenty five years.
