The title of Commander of the Legion of Honor was conferred upon Franz Philippson, Belgian-Jewish financier and philanthropist, by the French Government.
Mr. Philippson is the President of the Jewish Consistory in Belgium and is a member of the Joint Reconstruction Fund in which the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee is participating.
