Ex-Prime Minister Baldwin, Conservative candidate for re-election in a message in connection with the campaign, declared that if returned to office, he will examine the laws regulating the entry of aliens into Great Britain, with a view, however, that no alien should substitute a Britisher when there is not sufficient work.
COOLIDGE RECEIVES SAMUEL C. LAMPORT
Samuel C. Lamport, well-known cotton merchant of New York and intimate friend of President Coolidge, was the guest of President and Mrs. Coolidge at the White House for luncheon yesterday. Mr. Lamport when queried on the nature of the visit which lasted three hours stated that the general political situation and social amenities formed the basis of conversation.
