Temple Emanuel Raises $20,500 for Jewish Refugees

The emergency committee for the relief of Jewish refugees in European ports and Cuba of which Mr. Louis Marshall and Rabbi Stephen S. Wise are chairmen, has received a check in the sum of $20,500 from Temple Emanuel, New York. Of this sum $10,000 is from the treasury of the temple, the remainder having been contributed by individual members of the congregation during the recent holidays.

Among those who donated to this fund were : Mr. Louis Marshall, $2,500; Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Miller, $2,000 ; Mr. J. K. Neuman, $500 ; Mr. D. K. Anspracher, $300 ; Theresa Goldsmith, $300 ; Made-line Stern, $250 ; Mr. Fred Warburg, $200.

The money donated by Temple Emanuel is part of the fund of $500,000 which the Emergency Committee is endeavoring to raise for the relief of 15,000 Jewish refugees who are stranded in various ports of Europe and in Cuba.
