Prof. Samuel Vermel of the Moscow State University died here.

Dr. Vermel introduced psychiatry into Russia. In addition to his chair at the University, he was director of the Institute of Psychiatry.

He founded at the Moscow University a chair for social-professional diseases, the first of a number of such chairs since established at various Universities in the country.

The Minister of Health, M. Semashko, the Vice-Minister M. Solovlov, and leading professors and representatives of the medical world delivered eulogies to the late professor.
