Christian Fund for Jewish Relief Arranges for Mass Meeting in Philadelphia

A mass meeting to arrange for Philadelphia’s participation in the American Christian Fund for Jewish Relief will be held on Sunday afternoon, February 6, in the Academy of Music.

A local committee for the Fund has been formed with Cardinal Doughtery as honorary chairman; Ernest Trigg, president of the Chamber of Commerce, is the chairman; Drexel and Company will act as the treasurers.

The speakers announced for the meeting include W. Freedland Kendrick, Mayor of Philadelphia; Cardinal Doughtery, Rabbi William H. Fineshriber of the Congregation Keneseth Israel, Miss Irma May, and Dr. E. A. E. Palmquist. Ernest T. Trigg will preside.

All fraternal, religious, social, civic and educational organizations are invited to participate in the meeting.

The members of the Philadelphia Committee for the American Christian Fund for Jewish Relief include: E. P. Albrich, Thomas K. Armstrong, General W. W. Atterbury, Richard L. Austin, Rev. Dr. A. C. Baldwin, Bishop Joseph F. Beury, James A. Flaherty, Philip H. Gadson, Bishop Thomas J. Garland, C. Addison Harris, Jr., Alba B. Johnson, Horatio G. Lloyd, Rev. Dr. A. Macoll, Effingham Morris, E. Pusy Passmore, Judge John Monaghan, George W. Norris, Reverend Dr. J. C. Pollack, Rev. Ivan Rose, William G. Sproul, Dr. E. A. E. Palmquist, Rev. Dr. Floyd W. Thompkins, Samuel M. Vauclain. The Women’s Committee is headed by Mrs. J. Allison Scott and includes Mrs. Win. Boyd, Mrs. James H. Dunbam, Mrs. J. F. Sichtenberg, Mrs. Calvin Pardee, Mrs. George C. Scranton.
