Will Erect Monument to Berek Joseliewicz, Polish-jewish Patriot

A memorial committee has been formed to erect a monument to Berek Joseliewicz, Jewish patriot who fought with the Polish army against the Russian invasion in 1863.

The monument will be erected at the grave of Joseliewicz in the town of Bialobrzeg.

During the Polish rebellion of 1863 Joseliewicz formed a separate Jewish regiment which gained fame for its defense of Praga, a suburb of Warsaw.
