Sir Philip Sassoon is on a Visit in America

Sir Philip Sassoon, Under Secretary for Air of Great Britain, arrived in the United States on Thursday on the steamer Mauretania.

Sir Philip said he was here on a private visit, and that after stopping for a few days in New York he would go to Washington. He will make a tour of the flying fields of the United States.

Newman Goldstein of Niagara Falls. N. Y. was appointed chairman of the local harbor board. He has undertakes to pilot through the newly established Port Authority of the Niagara Frontier, a water way on the upper Niagara river sufficient to meet requirements of barge vessels of great tonnage. Mr. Goldstein is cooperating with Senator Charles Frieburg, chairman of the Port Authority commission.

Among the candidates for alderman endorsed for election by the Citizens’ Union in its recommendations to voters made public yesterday are the names of Ray F. Zucker, Anna Ingerman, Milton C. Baldridge, Joseph Reich, Sadie H. Rivkin and J. Irving Irier.
