Warsaw Rabbinate Agrees to Modern System of Registry for Mohelim

Introduction of a modern system of registry, intended to safeguard the observance of sanitary requirements in the performance of the Abrahamitic rite of circumcision, was agreed to by the Warsaw rabbinate.

The rabbinate decided today to approve the regulations promulgated by the Warsaw Kehillah, henceforth compelling all Mohelim to secure certificates of authorization from the rabbinic as well as the health authorities Under the regulations, a candidate for a Mohel will have to go though a medical and religious course, secure hospital experience, and pass the respective examinations before obtaining his double certificate.
