The local press urges as an opportunity for “the finest type of young Britons,” joining the Palestine police, stating that Major Allan Saunders from Palestine is searching London for 200 men. H. L. Dowbiggin, who has left Ceylon for Palestine, will conduct an inquiry into the reorganization of the police there into a force of 2,000 police, 450 of whom will be British and the rest Arabs and Jews. The constables are offered a salary of $55 a month with all around promotions, corporals $65, and sergeants $75.
