That the campaign for a five-million dollar endowment fund which is being sought by the Hebrew Union College of Cincinnati is nearing its goal was the announcement made here yesterday in a report from Adolph S. Ochs, chairman of the endowment fund campaign, rendered at the final session of the meeting of the executive board of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations.

A total of $4,339,512.16 has already been pledged to the fund, Mr. Ochs stated. David A. Brown, chairman of the union’s board of finance, submitted a report in which he praised the spirit of cooperation in which most of the reform congregations throughout the country have been working for the success of the endowment fund.

The possibility of publishing a magazine devoted to Reform Judaism was discussed at the meeting, and it was decided to appoint a committee to consider cooperation with the Central Conference of American Rabbis on this matter.

The next meeting of the executive board will be held at Atlantic City on June 14 and 15.
