The financial aid of American Jews was today held responsible for the support of the Jewish religion in Russia. The Kharkov “Shtern” substantiates this by pointing out that in the city of Alkonstantin the Volyn rabbinical seminary, a number of illegal Hebrew schools and religious societies were being maintained with American funds.

The paper demands the liquidation of these institutions, saying “their membership includes not only old Jews but also artisans and even workers.”
