The establishment of bi-national committees of Jews and Arabs in all towns and villages in Palestine where the two peoples live, as a step toward mutual respect and good will, is suggested in a letter from Harry Snell, Labor member of Parliament and of the Palestine Inquiry Commission, published today by the B’rith Shalom Society.
Mr. Snell’s letter, dated May 1, reveals that his reservations to the report of the Inquiry Commission contained a lengthy exposition of the plan for bi-national committees but he was “obliged to eliminate it the same as other things I wished to say.” In his letter, Mr. Snell also expresses approval of the proposals to be made by the B’rith Shalom in a memorandum which it will submit this week to the Jewish Agency, the Jewish National Council and the General Federation of Jewish Labor.
