The national council of the Canadian Zionist Organization today endorsed the proposal of H. Wolofsky, editor and publisher of the Montreal Jewish Eagle, that the seventeenth world Zionist Congress be held in Montreal. The Congress is to convene February 5th at a place as yet undecided.

Following the endorsement, the council took steps to initiate immediate negotiations with the Zionist Organization of America for that purpose. In local Zionist circles it is reported that a delegation of American Zionist leaders may be sent to London to convince the World Zionist Executive of the advisability of holding the Congress in the Canadian metropolis.
