The official recognition conceded by the University authorities in Austria to the race-German students’ organisations has been withdrawn at the University of Innsbrueck, following a fight started by the Hitlerist students there against the Catholic students. The University Senate has in consequence prohibited the elections to the Student Committees being held on University territory in order to prevent further clashes in connection with the elections and has refused to give the German student organisations any longer the official status which they have hither to held in the University. It is likely that the action of the Innsbrueck University authorities may be followed by the authorities of other Austrian universities.
