The appeal of Harry Greenstein, President of the Baltimore Y. M. and Y. W. H. A., indicating the possibility of the doors being closed unless immediate financial aid was forthcoming, met with response from community leaders and brought immediate contributions of $23,000.

The sum of $50,000 will be needed to take care of past due indebtedness and to balance the budget for the next twelve months.

At a special meeting of the Board of Trustees, Sidney Lansburgh, former president of the Associated Jewish Charities, was unanimously selected as chairman of a special committee to raise the sum of money needed.
