Colonel Josiah Wedgewood, Laborite, yesterday asked Sir Philip Cunliffe-Lister in the House of Commons whether the two government-nominated members of the Jerusalem municipality would be drawn from British residents of the city, who do not possess the franchise.

The British Secretary of State for Colonies replied that selection of the council members rested with High Commissioner Sir Arthur Grenfell Wauchope and that it would be highly improper to interfere.
