An exhibit showing the development of the North American Yiddish press from its inception in 1870 to the present was formally opened Saturday evening at the Yiddish Culture Society, 147 Second avenue.
The exhibit, which was sponsored by the society, includes several hundred examples of daily and periodic publications.
The Archive of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency includes articles published from 1923 to 2008. Archive stories reflect the journalistic standards and practices of the time they were published.
