Jewish visitors to Long Branch Park, a suburb of Toronto, found “Gentiles Only” placards posted in conspicuous places. Police constables, on duty at strategic points, questioned visitors as to their nationality. Several Jews who protested were threatened with forceable ejection and court action.

Long Branch Park belongs to the Township of Long Branch and is leased by individuals for the summer season. Two years ago similar discrimination occurred. At that time the reeve of the township apologized after the Jewish press had given prominence to the occurrence.

This year protests against the discrimination were ignored by the Long Branch Council.
