Dr. Maurice Goldblatt of Chicago, art expert, received an honorary degree of Doctor of Laws from Notre Dame University at the annual commencement exercise at South Bend, Ind. The invitation from vice-president John F. O’Hara to Dr. Goldblatt, who also is a director of the University of Notre Dame art gallery, read:

“Your work for the development of this splendid cultural adjunct to the University has been notable and the University has designated you to receive the honorary Doctor of Laws degree, primarily as a recognition of your great contribution to the development among Americans of an appreciation of real art.”

Several years ago Dr. Goldblatt was decorated by Premier Herriot, when in France, for his research work at the Louvre, and his findings regarding the painting of Leonardo da Vinci.
