Stone told reporters after he had appeared before Mr. Dickstein that the Congressman was “attempting to justify the House inquiry by oppressing workers.” He left the hearing smiling and waving three single dollar bills, awarded in lieu of a day’s pay. He announced that a parade of “unemployed” was scheduled on Saturday morning.
Questioned by the press following the hearing, Mr. Dickstein said that “New Jersey is the stronghold of the Nazis.” He would say nothing more.
Open hearings are scheduled next month.
