Adolf Hitler returned from Neudeck shortly before midnight after a conference with von Hindenburg. No statement was forthcoming tonight as to what decision had been reached, but it was believed that von Hindenburg had sanctioned von Papen’s withdrawal from the cabinet. Von Papen’s resignation was said to have been put into Hitler’s hands this afternoon.
