Advances of $46,065 were made to 937 persons during the first six months of 1934 by the Brooklyn Hebrew Free Loan Association, affiliated with the Brooklyn Federation of Jewish Charities, it was announced last night by Jacob Fink, president of the Association.
Loans are made to individuals and business men who need modest amounts, and the Association has granted an aggregate of $2,655,257 to 78,087 applicants during the twenty-odd years of its activity. Loans are allowed in sums ranging from $10 to $300 on endorsed notes without interest or other charges.
Besides Mr. Fink, other officers include Hyman Bloomgarden, first vice-president; Mendel Freedman, honorary first vice-president; Harry Tauber, second vice-president; Boris Reish, third vice-president; Kasriel Kaplan, treasurer; William D. Max, recording secretary; Morris Miller, honorary financial secretary; Abaham I. Kalina, counselor; Isaac Kalina, financial secretary.
