A sweeping investigation into the rioting that marked a Nazi meeting in Irvington on May 21 will be opened here tomorrow by Detective Clarence Merrell, ace investigator, it was announced by County Prosecutor. William Wachenseid.
Evidence collected will be turned over to the grand jury when it meets in September. It is expected that reporters who were present at riots will be asked to testify.
Eleven Nazis and five anti-Nazis were arrested after the Irvington riot. They were released on $500 bail each pending investigation and possible indictment by the grand jury in September.
