A vigorous campaign against the Jews is now under way in the Nazi press. The Jews of the country, and particularly Jewish refugees abroad are indicted as responsible for most of Germany’s present troubles, including circulation of “horror stories” in the press of the world.
Almost without exception. Nazi newspapers in Berlin and other centers are devoting much space to vigorous attacks on the Jews for spreading throughout the world false reports of what is happening in Germany.
An earlier drive saw well-launched the charge that the Jews were behind the storm troop revolt and were therefore responsible for the drastic actions taken by the Hitler regime against its former trusted lieutenants.
Propaganda Minister Goebbels, in a broadcast tonight, denounced the world press for its “lies, slander and misrepresentation of the true facts.” He did not, however, accuse the Jews directly as do the German newspapers with the approval of the Goebbels censorship.
The unceasing attacks on the Jews now featured in the press are creating much concern among the Jewish population which is sadly aware of what repercussions may be expected.
