More than 160 Jews are emigrating from Berlin each week and the number is increasing rapidly, Die Deutsche Zeitung, leading Nazi paper, declared today. Inquiries made here by the Jewish Telegraphic Agency today fro mreliable Jewish sources brought the answer that while accurate figures were unavailable, figures given by the Nazi paper were substantially correct.

At the same time Dr. Joachim Goercke, head of the Nazi racial department of Dr. Frick’s Ministry of the Interior, completely exposed the anti-Semitic basis of the whole Nazi radical policy, regarded by the Nazis as the cornerstone of the regime. He declared in an article in the Arztblatt that the race policy was “not a biological or scientific matter, but purely a matter of high political necessity.”

German Jews will continue to be excluded from health resorts and bathing places, but it is not desirable to exclude foreign Jews, resort keepers all over Germany were told by the tourist bureau of the Nazi government, which is now engaged in a campaign designed to attract foreign tourists to German resorts.

Nazi officials made it clear, however, to the resort owners that there was not the slightest necessity of slackening in any degree the policy of excluding completely all German Jews from the resorts.

It is understood that most of the rsorts fell in with the Nazi government policy toward foreign Jews, but that resorts at Borkem and Baden-Baden refused to allow even foreign Jews or to relax in the least their anti-Jewish policy.

Dr. Goebbels’ Propaganda Ministry today agreed to permit Jewish cabaret players, vaudeville artists and circus performers to give performances before all-Jewish audiences, since under the terms of the “Aryan clause” Jewish artists are not allowed to perform before “Aryan” audiences.

Jewish theatrical, opera and film artists have, however, been allowed to perform before all-Jewish audiences and this permission will now be extended to include cabaret, vaudeville and circus performances.

Four of the five Jews remaining in custody at Hirschberg were released today. Only Herr Lehman remains under arrest. Reports that all the Jewish inhabitants of Hirschberg have fled proved to be unfounded.
