“The charge that Germany is buying war munitions in this country is sheer nonsense,” declared Dr. Hans Luther, German Ambassador to the United States, at a newspaper conference today.
Ambassador Luther was asked whether he had protested to the Department of State the allegation made before the Senate committee investigating munitions manufacturers last week. He refused to reply to this question.
The interview followed an hour’s conference between the Ambassador and Secretary of State Cordell Hull.
