In spite of the recommendation made by Chief Magistrate Curry here that nine Russian Jews, including two girls, who were arrested in Wadi Hawarith as illegal immigrants and sentenced to imprisonment, be allowed to remain in the country on the expiration of their jail terms, they were deported by police on the Greek vessel Kerkyra today. Other deportees on the same boat were thirty-two Polish Jewish girls, who were arrested near Capernaum, and three men.

Nevertheless the chief magistrate at Jerusalem has recommended that an Egyptian, who entered Palestine illegally twice in search of work and left Transjordania because he found no employment, be allowed to remain if police find his case worthy of such permission.
