New Opera Plan Goes into Effect at Hippodrome

Four evening performances and one matinee will be presented this week by the Cosmopolitan Opera Association at the Hippodrome in pursuance of a new policy, Max Rabinoff, director, announced Friday. There will be no performances on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Four Verdi operas will be given—La Traviata, Aida, II Trovatore and Rigoletto. La Traviata, scheduled for Friday evening, will be heard for the first time this season. Another newcomer will be Noniuszkio’s Halka, in Polish, Monday evening.

Aida will be sung Thursday, II Trovatore Saturday and Rigoletto Sunday evening. Gounod’s Faust will be the Saturday matinee attraction.
