Ten thousand persons participated today in impressive funeral services for Baron Edmond de Rothschild, eighty-nine-year-old philanthropist, who died Friday.
The Grand Rabbi of Paris, Dr. Julien Weill, officiated at simple services for the Baron. There were no speeches and no flowers. Members of the French Academy, Senators, Deputies, representatives of the French Government and of Paris banking firms participated.
Florian Sokolow and his sister, Celina, represented their father, Dr. Nahum Sokolow, president of the World Zionist Organization. David Ben Gurion, Laborite member of the World Zionist Executive, represented the Zionist movement.
